The early release of the May 2012 POW file causes an error when importing into CBPF.
The reason for this is that there is some kind of corruption in the file that causes
problems. (I opened the file in Excel and the Issue# for the Previews catalog
would change if I sorted the column). I informed Diamond technical support and
John Obara let me know that they were working on a correction. I also let them
know of the issue# appearing in the item description field. I previously had a
correction on this site for the file, but there was more of a problem to the
file than I was aware of so have taken my correction down.
I just imported the May 2012 (dated 4/17/12 on Diamonds site). This file
imported fine and looks ok upon my initial inspection. They also removed the
issue# from the item description field. I know several of you updated your
copies of CBPF because of this problem, so I hope you are happy with your
upgrades.
The March 2012 POW file contains Issue #'s in the Item
Description field. Back in CBPF 1.09 I added a feature that would remove Issue
#'s from the Item Description field. So to automatically remove these Issue #'s
1.
Go to your setup tab and change Item Descriptions field to ‘strip’.
2.
Import (or Reimport) the March POW file.
3.
'Find Monthly Items' button again.
The October 2011 POW file causes an error when importing into CBPF.
The reason for this is that Diamond placed the CBLDF as category 700.
The category field specifies whether an item is comic, graphic novel, poster, etc.
For years there have been 16 categories. Where 700 came from is beyond me.
I've changed the category in the October file and placed the file here
Download File. The international file is here
International File. Once you open this file, you'll need to save it to
your hard drive then import it into CBPF (File>Save As or File>Save Page As).
CBPF 1.12 is now available with some great new features.

Diamond recently did a website update and the Previews Description
file has been moved/renamed. It is still in the Data Files section
(on the left). It is now under the "PREVIEWS Product Copy",
and the file you want is the "PREVIEWS Product Copy" Database.
This only affects those you use the description file (Ctrl-D) from
the Diamond All form.

All of the video tutorial files are available by download in the
video tutorial section.
Sell more products!! Version
1.07 contains the New Notables Report to help you sell more products
to your customers.
This report will make your customers aware of products which are
available which they may not be aware of in the Previews Catalog,
or even in your store. Expose your customers to posters, T-shirts,
statues or books which contain great artwork.

Great News!!! Version
1.06 now contains CBPF BASIC (free version) for smaller retailers,
for those who want to test the waters for more than 60-days, and
for frugal (cheap) retailers. The
60-day trial is the full version, but when the 60-days have expired,
if you want to use CBPF BASIC instead of subscribing/purchasing,
you type "basic" at the password prompt. At any point,
you may purchase or subscribe to the full version of CBPF. CBPF
BASIC has the bells and many of the whistles disabled, but it is
still scientifically proven to be 53,426 times better than the paper
and pencil system. Specific disabled items are listed in the 1.06
newsletter.
Version 1.06 has increased filtering options on the Diamond All
form.
