An Overview of ComicBook Pull FileThe ComicBook Pull File (CBPF) is designed as a complement to the Previews on Windows (POW) program distributed by Diamond Comics Distributers as a method of ordering items from Diamond by using a computer. What the ComicBook Pull File adds to POW is the ability to use the data already available in POW to quickly locate Item Codes, Page numbers, Prices, and Previews catalog issue (among many other data) when locating items for ordering. This eliminates the need to search through multiple Previews Catalogs to attempt to find an item. Once the item is located in CBPF, an exact Previews Catalog and page number can be used to find the exact solicitation to show the customer. The CBPF logs customers orders and monthly auto-pull requests along with customer data. Once the customer orders are recorded they are sent to POW. Then, when POW is used, all customer orders are already in POW and only shelf-stock needs to be added to POW. This will reduce the chance of overlooking customer preorders or making a mistake when calculating preorder numbers.
POW is then used as intended to place the monthly Previews order with Diamond. Once additions are made in POW and the orders placed with Diamond, the file is sent back to CBPF. This is done to track actual numbers of all items ordered.
When the weekly comic shipment arrives, a report within CBPF will show what items are to be pulled for what customers. Once all customer items are pulled, the remainder of the shipment is placed on your shelf. |
